Lobster Roll – my target all along.
My recent taste of live lobster cooked fresh after you order (in a restaurant back home) started a search on how delicious lobsters can get. The one I tasted in a hotel buffet didn’t fare well compared to the taste of the live lobster. All I remember was regular shellfish meat, unlike the sweet and juicy one of the fresh live lobster.
Now for this one.

My cousin was hesitant to pay 40 SGD for just a roll (even if it came with fries and a side salad). Understandable, the beef burger only sells for around 25 SGD.
Lobster Roll

Though not exactly as naturally sweet as the live lobster meat, the chilled lobster in this burger was way better than the one I tasted in a hotel buffet. The pieces were juicy, bathed in the Japanese mayo. Not sure if the hints of sweetness I tasted were from the mayo or meat. Lemon butter sauce really went well with the chilled lobster pieces and the Japanese mayo. And the bun, soft with just the right amount of toasted bits on the outside. Top it all off with the lemon butter sauce and wow.

My cousin even commented that “It’s good…It’s not like the one we tried before…and I like the sauce”. I bet the lobsters she had before was the same kinda tough seafood meat.
The Mayfair

Beef patty + Onion + Tomato + signature burger sauce + iceberg lettuce, sandwiched between a brioche bun. Add a few dollars for extra cheese.
It’s a well balanced burger complemented by veggies and sauces that enhanced the beefiness. Did not overpower the patty at all. The burger sauce was really good and the patty was thick enough to actually taste the beefiness. The patty had no tough parts in it.
Might go back for the live lobsters next time.

Great post😀
