Seafood paluto! You know how paluto goes, you could select from a display the fresh seafood that would go into your meal, then choose from their menu how it would be cooked (fixed cooking fee per kilo per type of dish). Too bad there’s a “No Pictures” sign at the area where you choose your seafood/meat/veggies so I wasn’t able to take a photo.
I was told, that when non locals visit Tacloban, this is one of the restaurants they must eat at. And I agree.
Baked Scallops – I’ve always liked scallops. Good thing this was the nearest dish from me on the table that I could easily sneak in another shell onto my plate.
Porbidang Kangkong – similar to laing but using kangkong leaves instead of gabi leaves. It’s a salty-creamy dish that I liked.
Adobong Sarad – a type of shellfish, similar to scallop meat in texture, cooked in a soy sauce base. Sadly, this blurred excuse for a photo is the only one I have for this dish…
Chicken Pandan – some poultry meat in the sea of seafood dishes.
Mixed veggies – this bowl had a good amount of cauliflower.
Sinigang na hipon – gotta have some soup. The classic sour soup with whole shrimps. Oh, I forgot to take a photo!
So, that ends day 1 of the trip! Tomorrow we plan to wake up early for a morning walk…Do we wake up early??
