Food: Shinsen – A Year Starter Team Dinner

Bonding over rolls and sashimi and donburis! This is actually a backlog post, throwback to our first team dinner in the year 2019. We were seated outside to accommodate our group since a group table was not available at the indoor seating area that time.

The Food:

Sashimi/Sushi Platter – group dinner at a Japanese restaurant would be complete with a platter of rolls for sharing!

  1. California maki
  2. Crazy Roll – kani, mango cucumber, topped with kani and Japanese mayo (this was the crowd fave)
  3. Dynamite Roll – spicy tuna, salmon, japanese cucumber
  4. Salmon and Tuna Sashimi

Ebi Tempura and Tori Kuwayaki

Another crowd favorite is the Ebi (prawn) Tempura. Similar to chicken karaage, the Tori kuwayaki is also deep fried pieces of marinated chicken, but this one is covered in a special sauce.

Tendon

One of the photogenic offerings from the rice meal section of the menu. Just look at that prawn and vegetable tempura glazed up in tempura sauce

Toriju

Generous serving of Japanese rice in this bento box makes you feel full pretty fast. Don’t worry, the chicken teriyaki is enough to make sure you have a bite of a viand for every spoonful of rice.

Shinsen is located at the retail area of Sapphire Bloc – one of the newer condominiums in the Ortigas area. It’s very convenient living there – close to offices and malls!

Hey, a free pen!
