Shifting to a steak house + bar vibe from than the previous American diner + bar ambience after the renovation here at Friday’s MOA branch. Prominent usage of browns and wood patterns replaced the red and white, and pop culture décor.

The Food:
Ribs and Shrimp

Fried butterfly shrimp was my favorite when we were dining here on special occasions back in my college days. I could easily finish that order or 12 pcs and smaller serving of 6pcs always seemed to be ‘bitin’. Can’t seem to find it on the new menu so I asked the server about it. We were informed that it is an off the menu item now. They still serve the 12pcs order, but not the half order of 6pcs anymore. Since I also wanted to have a bit of meat, I ordered the surf n turf combo of ribs and shrimp instead.
Ah, the shrimp. Got to try it again after years. Though I remember the breading to be a bit more seasoned and the shrimp a bit juicier. And it’s not a butterfly cut anymore so less surface covered by the breading.
As for the ribs, the glaze had a signature barbeque flavor to it. Maybe I’ll have baby back ribs for less fat and more tender meat next time.
Rib eye steak

Pretty decent steak. This turned out better than our previous steak experience here years ago. Back then, the meat was overdone and tough to bite. It didn’t even have a beefy taste to it. That’s why we never had steak here for the past 5++ years. At least this time we got a better steak even if there are some tough parts. A bit on the pricey side but you also pay for the Bistro Group customer service I guess. Onion rings served as a side dish was actually quite good.
