Food: Paradise Dynasty – Chinese Fare on GCs

Got some GCs and used them! There are some items I wanted to try for the first time in this restaurant, and some to reorder.

The Food:

Xiao Long Bao Black Truffle

Of their 8 xiao long bao flavors, Black Truffle is one of my favorites aside from the Crab Roe variant. The taste of the truffle is strong enough to be noticed but not overpowering.

Charcoal Custard Lava Bun

Wanted to try this ever since the custard craze broke out. Best eaten while hot. But be careful not to get your tongue burned from the freshly steamed hot custard. The filling is a bit sweet and some might consider it more of a dessert than an appetizer.

Crispy Fried Crystal Prawn tossed with Salted Egg Yolk

Yeah, I had this salted egg-phase in 2019 and I just wanted to try this one with one of my favorite seafood. A bit pricey but took this chance to order since we will be using a gift certificate. Wasn’t disappointed – I could taste the salted egg on the coating and the shrimps were just the right size for a bite. Eat it while it’s still crispy or else it gets a bit soggy and oily like other fried fare.

Braised Tofu with Sliced Pork and Mushrooms

Surprisingly was good. The slight spiciness makes it appetizing. Thickness of the tofu was just right to still be able to appreciate the sauce and the pork if you are eating it together in one bite.

La Mian Seafood in Signature Pork bone Soup

Pork bone broth in this bowl was lighter version of the tonkotsu broth in Japanese ramen which is usually creamy. This broth goes well with any toppings – braised beef, garlic pork, seafood, dimsum. We got the seafood option since we were already having pork.

Pan fried Pumpkin Pastry

A thin crisp from the pastry layer wraps the sticky chewy tikoy-like pumpkin pastry inside. It’s actually good especially for those without a sweet tooth. I could imagine this with some ice cream in ala mode style. That’s just me.
