Food: Soopong – Korean lunch food trip

Some days I just crave for chewy rice cakes in a sauce. Had lunch with a friend visiting Manila at Soopong, a Korean restaurant on the ground floor retail area of Grand Emerald Tower in Ortigas.

The Food:

Ramenbokki

Good enough for sharing for two people with medium appetite. I ordered this for the tteokbokki!! Originally wanted the Jjanjjangbokki, the one with non spicy black bean sauce but it was not available. So to still get the rice cake fix, we ordered this. Ramen, whole egg, spicy soup, fish cake, and tteokbokki in one bowl.

Kimbap (whole)

We both wanted some of these rolls filled with veggies and picked items.

Happy Bibimbap (no meat)

In case we needed more carbs, we ordered a bibimbap without meat, dubbed as the ‘happy’ bibimbap. Just the veggies and bean paste.

Ice cream

Had to have some Korean ice cream to finish the meal. I got this unfamiliar one that looks like chocolate filled chocolate popsicle (didn’t get Melona this time). Instead of a chocolate center, there were layers of chocolate shells even in the middle of the popsicle. I guess they dried out the chocolate shells in layers to get this result.

Bonus drink:

Guess what, there’s also a Korean grocery store a few steps away! Got a Binggrae Banana Milk drink.

Actual dine in date: mid-late 2019
