BGC Food crawl stop 2: Shari Shari

Mango Lassi – mango syrup, fresh yogurt, mango topping

What I thought would taste like artificial flavorings and candy-like mangoes turned out as a favorite! The mango toppings tasted, uhm, natural(?) and not like the ones preserved in syrup. I didn’t choose a fruit flavored ice since I thought it would taste like candy, but this didn’t. This one was sweet and sour and tangy, and I just wanted to get more. I understand why it is on the top 5 best sellers list.

Kyoto Uji Kin Toki – Uji matcha syrup, milk syrup, azuki red bean, shiratama mochi

For those down for earthy flavor tones, get this one. Azuki beans added sweet contrast to the matcha syrup which was not sweet at all. Personally I think the mango lassi had a more distinct flavor. Adding in the milk syrup made the ice melt faster so you really gotta eat it fast. I didn’t know that this had mochi in it so I was surprised to find 2 round glutinous rice balls while sipping on the then melted kakigori ice. Maybe I should have tried the Matcha Cream variant which was on the top 5 best sellers. I would still recommend this though to those who want a cool treat without dealing with sugar sweetness.
