Food: Alba buffet – a deal, a treat

The Food:

Lunch Buffet:

A deal is a deal. Lunch buffet with old friends even it’s around a year later than scheduled. At least we pulled through!

Enjoy a more intimate setting here at Alba Spanish buffet without the crowds of the major buffet chains. Perfect for catch up sessions. Dark wooden chairs or red couches replace the common light weight plastic chairs in other buffet chains. For events, they have a function room, and another space that can be divided further from the common dining area for dining of bigger groups.

The Food:

Alba has a compact buffet spread focusing on Spanish cuisine, with its trays circling around one rectangular table, while desserts are on a separate corner. Fresh hot off the oven breads are available upon request.

My Plates:

Plate 1

The Appetizer Plate – ceviche in the center. Then from the left counter clockwise – some cold cuts, toasted bread with mushroom spread, chorizos, calamari, garlic tomato and ham toast. I like the cold cuts, nuts, cheese options here.

Plate 2

Mains – paella in the center. Then from the left counter clockwise –  lengua, fish, seafood pasta, callos, lechon. Paella and lechon are some of the main offerings of Alba though I prefer the other main viand options in the buffet. Paella this time tasted better than my previous visits. As usual, I got lengua. Pasta was a unanimous favorite and we went back for extra serving of this.

Plate 3

This is the β€œget what you want to repeat” plate – that mysterious charred chorizo in the middle just because we were intrigued and I forgot what it tasted like back in the first plate. Then again from the left, lengua, paella, pasta, cold cuts and nuts.

My dessert plate is not in the photo. I was a bit late and almost ran out of their signature Canonigo! Also got some mini cakes.

Maximum of three plates for me now, plus a smaller servings of dessert. A few years ago I could finish up to 5 plates off food, then 2 for desserts. I guess times are changing for my digestive system. HAHAHA

Actual dine date: late 2019
