Another must-go place is Jewel at Changi. To have ample time to eat and explore, we booked a ride via GoJek, similar to Grab.
First view of the control tower.

Through the automatic doors, here’s a shaky video entering Jewel. Hear the rush of the Vortex, the tallest indoor waterfall in the world. But before we bask in viewing area, we had to get some lunch. All that museum touring made us hungry. Shake Shack line so long! I thought of getting a take out burger from here but nevermind. There’s a branch at home anyway.
First order of business, up to the top level to Burger and Lobster. There were a lot of interesting restaurants on this level. Being at the top floor with in building with a glass ceiling, it was a bit hot especially during lunchtime.

Out of all the Canopy Park Attractions, I would have wanted to try the Canopy Bridge (heights!) in the limited time I have left. The Mirror maze and Hedge maze would have been fun if only I did not have a flight to catch. I’m not sure how long will it take me to get out if I step into any kind of maze. Keeping this activity in my must-do list for next visit.
Took a few photos of the Vortex from the top floor. I actually forgot my powerbank on a plant box while taking a selfie. We already got down a floor when I realized it. Good thing it was still there untouched.
Strolling around this circular pathway of stores, I noticed there’s quite a number of shops selling novelty items like phone cases, cute plush toys, costume jewelry, and stationery. Also just had to take a peek at the Pokemon Center, featuring Pikachu plush toys in pilot and flight attendant attire!

We aren’t done eating yet. Looking for a cake or ice cream shop, we chanced upon a chic minimalist ice cream shop – Birds of Paradise

Bringing our cups of gelato, we went to the viewing area of Vortex. After a few tourist shots, we sat down on one of the amphitheater benches. There are other viewing areas/lobbies on the upper floors – a good spot to watch the light and sounds show.

Time to go! Said my see you soon’s to my cousin as I entered the immigration departure. The process was quite quick. Someone just checked my boarding pass, then I scanned my passport on a machine, then it was done. Welcome to the transit area of Terminal 1.
Feeling a bit bored? Then why not take a photo and have it uploaded to the Social Tree? By now, I have strongly associated orchids to Singapore. Here’s another flower display featuring orchids.

Less than two hours flew by as I took a lot of time choosing what chocolate to bring home. Finally decided on a brand not available as retail chocolate back home, but relatively known – Valrhona. It has a nice creamy ring to its name as you roll the R with a breathy H. Bought 2 variants of dark chocolate, then picked up another 2 bars of Neuhaus chocolates near the cashier while waiting for my turn to pay.

Grabbed a grilled chicken burger from Burger King, and a croissant sandwich from Starbucks – items not available back home. Wasn’t able to take a photo since I needed to look for my boarding gate which turned out to be a bit farther than expected.
Arrived back at the local airport around 10pm.

It was a fun-filled quick weekend escape. The chill schedule didn’t make it seem that I was just ticking off items on a to-go list. Though I admit I could have covered more places if I wanted to.
Gotta get to work the next day!
